I find myself at a point in time where just up the road are a bunch of ends - grotesque, smelly ends. Some big, some small, some may not even come at all, but all of them show how finite life can be. Oh well, an end is usually followed by a new beginning...on facebook...'cause it's desperate for friendship...
...and also hiding in the bushes outside that end's bedroom...
The most obvious end would be that of 2012. Mine started with a bang, thanks to a rocking new year with a couple of my friends. It hasn't been all smooth sailing, but I can look back on it and say it was pretty good...and that it owes me twenty bucks.
The second, less obvious but more obsessed over, is the END OF THE WORLD! Of course, I don't believe the world will end in any way, shape or form, tomorrow, so I don't really care. I'm looking forward to getting up Saturday morning and posting on facebook that the world has indeed ended and I'm posting from beyond the grave.
...or not, I don't really care...
The third is and end of an era for me, as I have finally finished my degree in IT. I can legitimately stamp a "BIT" to the end of my name and feel extra special and whatnot. It also spells the end of study for me (for now, anyway), and hopefully the end of being unemployed. I'll see how that goes.
Another one is an end of absence from/of my web-presence. I'm hoping that I'll be doing more than just facebooking it, going into next year. More blogging, more posting, and more goodies going up at coramaximus.com. I have at least one idea in mind to make use of my hosting while I still have it. Don't get your hopes up or anything, as I know I've burned you guys, before.

Lean, Mean, Wishful Thinking Machine
It's 2012, and I'm hoping to make this year my year to grow, physically, mentally, and emotionally. That's right, I'm going for the trifecta. The trilogy. The Tri-force, if you will. I mean, power, wisdom and courage match physical, mental and emotional pretty well.
What am I talking about? Look it up!
First up: Physical. I'm going to put in a real effort to improve my fitness, this year. At least, I'm going to put a real effort into...putting a real effort into it... I guess te best way to start is small. Something like 4 sets of 25 crunches once a day for a week. I don't know; I've never been good with discipline, but you've got to start somewhere.
I'm also considering signing up for martial arts. Not sure which, but one day, I hope to master at least one, and perhaps more than one. I need to learn me some discipline, and I doubt military is the way for me to go. This may also improve my mental state, and possibly emotional, so it's certainly worth looking into.
"Keep trying harder"

It's a Boy
Well, 2011 has passed and despite how bad it was, I wish for it to rest in peace. We also have a newborn joining our never-growing family. We've named him "2012".
It's at this time that I look back on my last two years at uni, and I find them somewhat comparable to movie trilogies. Particularly a certain one written and directed by one Mr. Lucas. It starts of well enough - the first off the saga introduces the the good and the bad, the student and the trials of university life. There are struggles and battles, and a planet gets blown up at one point, but in the end, good prevails and everyone's happy. Number two is a little different. Evil counters, there are a lot of harder battles, hiding, revelations, and at the end of the day, you manage to survive, but it's quite bittersweet.
Number three?
For me, it has yet to begin, but as the aformentioned trilogy goes, good finds a way to come back from a rough ending in the second, learns a lesson or two, takes on insurmountable odds, makes some hard decisions, and ends up blkowing up another Death Star.
...wait...I think I've mixed things a bit...
Anyway, if my tenure at QUT really does follow this pattern, there might just be hope for me, yet. The challenges may be great, the battles will be rough, some might be won, some might be lost, but in the end, hopefully I can push through and achieve ultimate victory - that being a degree.
2011 was not the terrific year I hoped it would be - it did not follow the trend set by 2010 - but perhaps 2012 will be a good year.
...first it needs a bottle and a nappy change :)

'Tis The Something
Well, 'tis indeed the season. Christmas is thoroughly upon us like a pack of hungry wolves on a boy made primarily out of meat, and I figured I'd
take time out to actually write something worthwhile. No reason really, since the need for thinking up an excuse to write something is one of
several things that keeps me from expressing my self, artistically or otherwise. So with no real point...
It's a time for gift getting, stressful organisation, and decorations coming out of left-field, right-field, centre-field, and a bunch of other fields, some of which noone has ever heard of. It's also a time when some of us reflect upon the meaning of the season. Whether it be a celebration of the birth of a certain saviour, the annual tradition of exchanging gifts perpetuated by big business eager to make a profit, or the not so tangible spirit of love and friendship; the holidays mean a lot of things to a lot of people.
This article discusses one way of looking at the true meaning of Christmas. It's no Charlie Brown Christmas Special, but it's still quite interesting.
Anyway, with nothing better to write, I would just like to wish you all a Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah, Good Kwanza, and whatever other celabratory season there is out there. I would also like to wish a happy and prosporous New Year, 2012. Will it be the last? Who knows? My gut says no.
...it also says it's empty...but that's another story...

Socialising - The Gap Filler
Well, tonight (or rather, last night, as midnight has rolled around since), I spent some time at the local inn with a friend of mine, drinking some ale and conversing tales of this and that. We chatted about geeky stuff, like how repetitive Pokemon has gotten (I mean, Team Rocket no longer serves a decent purpose, does it?), and it occurs to me why such a thing is important to a human being. I found the experience enjoyable, and I came out of it somewhat...happy.
I'm beginning to understand why regular joes go to the pub on Fridays. It's the social interaction that separates humankind from the rest of the animal kingdom...as far as I know, anyway... Everybody needs to have a friendly talk session, every once in a while. Personally, it's difficult for me to communicate with others, and sometimes I need to get together with a good friend or two and discuss random crap over a pint.
It's human nature to want to share one's experience with another.

So Shall It Be Written...
Ok, I know I haven't written that much in this thing, but I have my reasons. Most of which stem from an inability to come up with anything to write, and worse, an inability to motivate myself to write it. The only reason I could come up with something, now, is this:
Upon opening up my twitter viewing ...thing... I noticed that my good friend had posted quite a few blog entries of his own. He had obviously been trying to write more, and it got me thinking that, maybe, I should write more, myself. It seems like a good enough way to get the creative juices going, and I always liked being a creator, rather than just a consumer.
The problem is, while this friend is already a fairly good creative writer, I am not so adept at writing things. Structure is fine - I know how to set things out. The main difficulty I have is in what to write.
Now, you're probably thinking that I'm doing a terrific job of it right now, but really that can be credited to a lot of luck on my part. Not to mention the fact that this writing is quite casual, and I'm just writing whatever comes to mind. I could not, in my wildest dreams, ever do any sort of writing for any REAL purpose - an essay, a report, etc - at least without a lot of help. Even now, I'm not entirely sure where I'm going with this...
Then again, maybe I'm just setting my expectations too high. Maybe this is what people do when they write reports, and then they just clean it up for the final draft. Still, they usually write thousands of words. Even when all of this, I'm struggling with three hundred.
Pie.
(That was the three-hundredth)
I look back over that which I've written so far, this post, I see problems with things that don't make sense, and in some parts, I'm not sure I'm saying. I guess overall, I'm worrying too much. The point is to say what I feel, or whatnot, and I'm constantly worried that noone will notice. I should probably just do it. Heck, no maybes about it - I SHOULD just do it, just like I'm just doing it, now.
Perhaps one day, I can learn to get myself over this hurdle that I STILL have yet to overcome. Perhaps then, I'll have more to put in this dusty, old thing. Perhaps someone will notice, perhaps not.
Perhaps I'll learn not to care so much...

Sign of the ApocolyPS3
What would you do if you owned a PS3, and all of a sudden, one day, it didn't want to let you play certain games, or sign in to the PSN? Well, recently, there has been an incident where, well, this has occurred.
Only affecting the older "fat" PS3s (as opposed to the Slim ones), a bug has been found that prevented PS3 users from not only going online, but playing some games offline, as well.
It took them some time, but Sony discovered the true source of the dreaded error (code 8001050F). Apparently, there was a problem with the internal clock functionality, concerning leap years. Sony have released a fix for the problem and, 24 hours after the problem was first reported, people's PlayStation 3 consoles finally returned to normal.

CNN Presents - We Got Dem Avatar Blues
Well, this isn't so much awesome, as it is interesting...and sad...
People watch a movie and get all emo. Are we, as a society, really that susceptible?

An End to a Lopsided Year
Ok, well, it's me, again, bringing you (along with too many commas) the latest in awesome news.
...or I would if I had any...
Nothing's happening, and it looks like it's going to stay that way, for a while. Unless New Year somehow brings tidings of motivation, it looks like there will be sporadic updates, at best, and not many, if at all.
I'd like to thank anyone out there that has come to visit, and hope you've enjoyed what little I've given you. Hopefully, next year, I can bring out some new stuff (and use twitter/facebook/etc to get it out there).
Here's to you, 2009.

Bender says "We're Back, Baby!" again.
That's right, folks, according to a couple of sources, as of the ninth of June, 2009, Futurama is back in town!
It looks like Family Guy is not the only Fox show to get a resurrection, because Comedy Central has picked up 26 NEW episodes of Futurama, to be aired in the Fall of 2010.
What could be better?
...well, I suppose they could do the same to Firefly...

Intended Purposes
Well, I went back to the beginning of this blog - ie. the very first post - to find what I had originally intended to use this blog for.
For the most part, I've put Sonic Slam news, as well as any other site news I could scrape up. However, it seems I intended this to be used to talk about stuff that related to the different aspects of the site (at least as well as the site stuff).
So, I've decided to begin anew...sort of...from now on, I'm going to use this to talk about stuff like I had wanted to. I might even throw in a rant or two.
Mm-mm, b!%@#!!

Birthdays And Delays
Well, it was my birthday, yesterday - I turned 24, not that epic a number. More on that in my Myspace blog.
Sonic Slam could be better - I've been struggling with the strips - both with writing and creation, thereof - and instead of 180, it's only at 172. I'll have to step up the pace a lot if I'm to get to the big 2-0-0 by the end of June.

A Tyresome year
(From coramaximus.com)
Welcome to the year 2009 (I know it's February, just bare with me, here...) This year hopes to be a good year, but alas, another may go without realised dreams of being a tyre, as well as without being any good. There's nothing slated for semester 1, and I'm not sure I'll be ready for uni, come sem 2. Job-wise, I don't think I'll ever be ready, so yeah - I'm back to this.
AV In - To start with...Transformers 2. The first was awesome, and June will tell whether the 2nd lives up to expectations or succumbs to sequel syndrome. Then there's Futurama 4/4: Into The Wild Green Yonder, which hopefully, will be better than "Bender's Game", which was ok, at best.
Nothing else comes to mind, right now...
AV Out - Sonic Slam's at 160, I upgraded the coramaximus main page, last month...that's about it, unfortunately, unless I can think of something else to put up.
...and actually get myself to do it - oh, that would be the bee's knees, alright!
...mmmm...bee's knees...
TODAYS LINKS (WHY NOT?):
I just ate a grape and I might accidentally get killed
